New Calendar – would you buy one? |
Well this has certainly divided my friends on Facebook this week – so I thought I would share it with my blogging friends too and ask your advice…
Setting up a new art calendar was interesting to say the least – I use a ‘print on demand’ site called redbubble, which does ensure that I have a high quality product without huge overheads – but it does mean that they set the base price not me.
I have the price set at £15.52 GBP (+p&p) or 20.16 Euros (+p&p) and I make a ‘tiny’ profit from this – put it this way I’d be saving up for a bucket and spade rather than a holiday…
The calendar is A3 size (297 x 420mm) with a wire binding and hanger, printed on 200gsm satin art paper with a tougher cover, and you can select any month of the year you like to begin your calendar with. If you click either of the images above you can view the calendar on the site.
Asking friends what they thought was really insightful. So I thought I’d ask you all too:
“Would you buy one – or is it too expensive?!!”
Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below as this really helps me decide what to do next…
(And if one of my American or Canadian friends could check the site and let me know the price for them that would be really helpful – try as I might I cannot get the page to display a different currency for me!)
Have a great weekend everyone!

Come back for more next Saturday!

We get a calendar of our grandkids every year made by DIL, so I haven’t bought one for ages, wouldn’t know.
I’m not even sure people buy calendars anymore?!
More than I would pay, Aly (cheapskate!) We buy one from our hospice every year for a fiver. It has postcard style photos, recipes on the back (which I read but never use) and plenty of space to write in my busy schedule, which is the best feature. All that and it’s for charity- nuff said?
that’s really helpful to know thanks Jo – confirming my thoughts!
Hi Alyson, It is $24.56 in USD….
and although I love your artwork that is a bit out of my league for a calendar!
ah thanks for checking for me – and ouch! that sounds a lot doesn’t it!
Sorry I am a cheapskate and wait for the free ones. My BBF makes her a calender and gives it as gifts. We love hers.
We always get about 5 free calendars every year, so I have not bought one in a very long time! If I needed one, yours would be very nice. I hope you sell lots of them. (:>)
thanks Linda – just wanted to ‘test the water’ as it were and see what people thought….
It is a stunning calendar, but I am not in the market for one. I pick one up at the $2 shop and it already shows invites for next year.
thanks for commenting – wasn’t sure if people still bought calendars in our IT world … good to know they are still useful though…
I don’t normally buy calendars – I have calendar issues – but I don’t think it is too expensive at all
thanks for your comments!
Aly, the artwork is stunning and if you sold it as a canvas poster instead, I would give it a think, but like Brenda mentioned, $25 USD is a bit much for calendars and we get way too many calendars to use every year..
hi – thanks for visiting and commenting – it’s been really interesting reading everyone’s comments and thoughts – will have a think about the poster idea!
